Demee and Will’s engagement session at Roque Bluffs State Park was a dream! I typically wouldn’t travel over three hours one way for an engagement session, but for them I made an exception. Any time I’m photographing an engagement session I get there early to find the best places. To some people this little beach might not look like much, but I saw it’s beauty as soon as I got there.
As I was scouting out a few locations, I was approached by a woman who asked if I was meeting a couple for photos? At first I was a little confused because I hadn’t even taken my camera out, and wondered if all wedding photographers had a certain look. As it turned out she was Will’s sweet mom who was going to keep an eye on their adorable daughter Ava.
I’m not sure if Demee and Will were as nervous as most couples are at the beginning of their engagement session, because they were naturals! At one point Will spontaneity dipped Demee back and pulled her in for a kiss! They must have practiced in their kitchen while making dinner, because neither of them missed a beat.
Having a sunset engagement session at Roque Bluffs, may be my new favorite. Adventure sessions at the beach always make my heart happy. There is something about the salty ocean air, mixed with the sand, that puts a smile on my face. Adding in the glow of the setting sun, and the perfect cotton candy sky, and there is no better way to end the day!
I am so excited to make the drive again on Saturday to capture their intimate wedding ceremony! The day is going to be filled with sentimental details, and I am honored to capture them!
