When Amanda told me she and Drew wanted to do their engagement photos at Kettle Cove, I was thrilled! It’s one of my favorite engagement locations in Southern Maine. I love the footbridges, the pathways, but mostly I love the sunsets over the ocean. I will never tire of capturing couples in love at sunset on the New England coast. It’s my favorite time of day.
Usually, the first few minutes of an engagement session are slightly awkward. Standing in front of a camera, learning a few core poses is not how most couples spend their Friday nights. But engagement sessions are an essential part of each couple’s experience. It gives us time to get to know one another and allows you to get familiar with how I work. Amanda was one of my brides who contemplated if having an engagement session was necessary, but by the end of the night, both her and Drew were so glad they made time for it.
Amanda and her family use to spend their summers at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth. Making it the perfect location for their Southern Maine Engagement session. Having the chance to reexplore it with her and Drew was extra special. As they held hands and laughed with each other, we wandered through the trails finding the best light while capturing more than a few beautiful photos.
I loved being able to see how they interacted with one another. Not just in front of the camera, but also as we moved to new locations. Drew was the perfect gentlemen, carrying Amand’s shoes, and gently fluffing her hair so we could keep our distance. As the sun started to dip closer to the trees we made our way to the beach in awe of the Stunning Maine sunset. We used every second of light available to capture all the beautiful glow. This Southern Maine Engagement session was a dream. I am more than excited for their wedding in Oc
