I met Alex and Pete at The Old Port in Portland, Maine for their engagement session. We had a lot to accomplish with the cobblestone streets, that classic downtown feel, mixed in with a view of the harbor, and a quick outfit change to capture some cozy pictures with their pup Echo. We used every moment of daylight to get all this in. And I have to say it was completely worth it.
We walked all around the Old Port for a classic downtown Portland Maine engagement session. You would never know just how packed the streets were in their engagement images. But at 5:00 pm on a Friday night, Portland is a pretty busy city. Alex and Pete were amazing! They posed in the middle of an intersection to get some of these epic photos. Don’t worry this street was shut down to cars so it was just pedestrians that needed to be avoided. It may have felt a little awkward as strangers passed by, but they laughed and joked the entire time.
If you’re looking for a quiet dock to take beautiful harbor photos on, I’d recommend the one at the Eastern Promenade. It’s just a short drive from the Old Port. The sailboats at sunset glow romantically in the background. This could have been a great ending to their session but there was so much more to capture. When your pup feels like family you have to bring them along for a few photos. We ended the night trying to get Echo to walk slowly. When that failed Echo the camera-shy dog got to call all the shots. I am so excited to share a handful of my favorite images on the blog, but I’m even more excited to finish this gallery for an extremely sweet couple.
